EXPERIMENT2WHAT IS A DOUBLE-BLIND CONTROL EXPERIMENT?AbstractA
double-blind is a research method used by scientists to eliminate
the possibilities of theresearcher from influencing the outcomes of
the given research, that is, bias is done away withdue to the
placebo effect as well as the characteristics of demand.Under this
study, both the experimenters and the researchers have zero
knowledge of whoever isreceiving the treatment. For instance,
imagine a scenario in which a research is being conductedto
comprehensively investigate the effects of a new drug. Making use
of the double-blindexperiment, t5he researchers will not e able to
tell the difference between who among thepatients received as
placebo and who received the actual drug.Lets look at the
double-blind study/experimentAs earlier mentioned, a double-blind
test gives a clear indication that both the researcher and
theexperimenter do not know who really is a recipient of the actual
treatment (treatment here beingused to imply the independent
variable’s level being manipulated by the researchers). A
simplecontrol experiment would be when the researcher knows those
receiving the real treatment butthe subjects have no knowledge of
the same. Given such an instance, researchers use a substancethat
has significant impact on whoever is taking it, for example a sugar
pill. The sugar …
